We talked to Lawrence Greaves of OPKIX about the wearable video camera and COVID-19.
First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
Lawrence Greaves: Working hard, enjoying our time together and doing everything we can to incubate our children and keep them engaged, active and passionate about life and learning.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded OPKIX.
Lawrence Greaves: I had sold my last company in 2016/2017, and I was using my time to be with my family, join Boards and invest in technology that inspired me. I met the man with the initial idea to disrupt the optical and video editing software world. I invested and assumed the role of CEO and Co-Founder, un-retired and have been loving every second of the ‘hard work’!
How does OPKIX innovate?
Lawrence Greaves: Our people innovate, the company attracts innovators. We have leaders from various industries, action sports, electronics, fashion, hardware. We have a Guinness World recorded holder on the team – it’s a place that breeds creativity. As it relates to innovation, we have our beachhead of small wearable technologies that partner with software to edit and share those videos, as well as truly wearable accessories so you can integrate our products into your lifestyle immediately. We design first and push engineering boundaries second, vs engineer what’s easy and then try to market it.
We don’t just innovate, but we eat together, we laugh together, and we are the true definition of a team. When you are a small company, the right chemistry is essential to maintain that energy to accelerate innovation through to execution.
